There are four ways to send a message to a Garmin:
- Through the Garmin dashlet
- Through Garmin Integration
- Through 2D or 3D Mapping
- Via SMS Text Message
Send a message using the Garmin dashlet
(You may need to drag the Garmin dashlet onto your Dashboard)

1. Select the vehicle from the dropdown menu.
2. Enter your message and click Send Message.

You can click on Message History to confirm that the message was sent (you may need to click Update Now).

Send a message using Garmin Integration
1. On the GPS Insight bar go to Custom, Garmin and click Open.

2. The Garmin-Enabled Vehicles panel lists all your Garmin vehicles. Click on the envelope icon beside the vehicle. Enter the message and click Send Message.

You will see the transmission appear in the Message History panel (you may need to click the refresh icon).

Send a message using 2D or 3D Mapping
1. Pull up the vehicle you want to send a message to on a 2D Current or 3D Current map.
2. Click once on the vehicle.
3. Click Send message (you may need to click on vehicle in the upper left corner to see the below view).

4. Enter your message and click Send Message.

Send a message using SMS Text Message
1. Log into account via cell phone as described here.
2. Text “gps [vehicle name] garmin [message]” to 477-477.
- Change [vehicle name] to the vehicle you want to send a message to.
- You can also shorten ‘garmin’ to ‘gm’.
- Change [message] to the full message you want sent to the vehicle.
