You can now drag and drop a specific Vehicle or Vehicle Group from a dashlet onto your Dashboard to create an instant “Follow Me” map.
To create an instant half-height “follow this vehicle” map simply drag the vehicle label from a dashlet or the vehicle icon from a map onto the Dashboard. If the dashlet was set to report on a specific Vehicle Group, that group will carry over to the Follow Me map you create and the other vehicles in that group will also appear on the map.
If you have a dashlet monitoring a Vehicle Group and you’d like to create a map for that group, drag the group name from the top of the dashlet onto your Dashboard. You can link the dashlet to the map by setting the Map Group of the dashlet before dragging to create the map. (Make sure you select a Map Group letter not already in use.)
We allow you to display up to 8 maps per dashboard window. It took me 2 seconds per moving vehicle to create these maps using this new capability. We will start allowing other drag & drop capabilities on the dashboard now that we’ve started to use this type of functionality.
