GPS Insight is able to accept DataConnect feeds from different hardware vendors that work with our software.

Overview

In this context, DataConnect means the vendor’s devices will post GPS location data for our web services to consume and make available through our Advanced Tracking Application. This data should be posted to our servers as soon as it is available from the tracking devices. Our system will immediately make the data available to end users for mapping and reporting.

GPS Insight provides some services in the same format provided by Network Fleet for compatibility with legacy systems. These are available in Network Fleet’s SOAP format or in our preferred REST format.

The service endpoint for REST is:

	* <http://standard.gpsinsight.com/rest/services_nc.php>
 * Example: <http://standard.gpsinsight.com/rest/services_nc.php?method=heartbeat&name=PING>

GPS Insight provides some services available for customers to receive periodically to their own web servers pushed from ours. The data can be provided in a number of standard web services formats such as SOAP, REST, or FTP. Delivery via a push mechanism requires a custom configuration for our servers to be able to reach your servers. We can accommodate whatever security measures the client needs to implement on their side such as IP filtering or password protection.
